History

Phil Skiba and Matt Wallace (The Godfathers of the Shithouse) were running through beautiful historic downtown La Crosse one day in early April 2003 and thought of a great idea. A nice breeze of shithouse air had just come their way. Immediately the idea of the "Shithouse 5k" was the topic of conversation. Besides, who would want to run a boring race through the great UW-L campus or scenic rabbit trails when you can run one through the industrial area and treatment plants of La Crosse, Wisconsin? The shit burns on!
